Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 31
I’m just a little ways into 72 at the time of writing this. This session was a bit shorter than I usually go, but my goal was to hit 72 today, and I did it, so I’ll leave it at that.
Some funny quests this time around. Most notably was the quest where you fed oil-stained wolves a drugged food, and watched as they pooped in front of you, only to have to dig through that poop to get a certain item. 
One annoying thing was way back before you’re supposed to go to Northrend, you’re asked to picked up an Overcharged Capacitor which unfortunately wasn’t on the AH.
Normally I would skip these quests, but there was a lot of follow ups that I was worried about missing. Luckily, by the time I actually had to *do* the quest in question, there were a couple of them on the AH for 10g each. Not bad, and certainly money isn’t an issue, but I really dislike parts of the guide that make you look for things that may not necessarily be available at the time.

Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 30
It’s been about a month now since I started leveling my Gnome Mage using Zygor’s Guide and I’ve been really impressed with it though it’s certainly not perfect.
I’m a fair ways into 71 now and so far my Alliance experience in Northrend has been fairly similar to my Horde experience, as there are a lot of neutral quests. However, there has also been a lot of playing in new areas and doing new quests that I’ve never seen before that has probably slowed me down a bit as I like to actually read quests. If I haven’t done them before that is.
The only annoyance I had this session was in Coldarra. Though there are a few quests there, and that’s where I hit 71, there also seems to be a lot of mobs. I felt like I was getting ambushed every 2 seconds while trying to eat and drink.
Other than that, I’ve been getting a few upgrades here and there, and having a lot of fun.

Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 29
Finally into Northrend! There really was no dramatic way to enter the place (like the Dark Portal) so you just get to see me with the D.E.H.T.A people.
I’m about halfway through and all ready saw some pretty massive upgrades. This will be the real test for Zygor’s Guide because I’ve never leveled an Alliance character up past 70 before. So most of the Northrend stuff (except Neutral quests) is all completely new to me.
All ready though, in Borean Tundra I’ve had to face two very difficult quests. One I was able to pull off with the help of my Water Elemental and other cooldowns, the other, not so lucky. I had someone pass by and help me out, which the guide doesn’t even suggest. I was pretty disappointed with that. =/
Ah well. I’m finally on the home stretch to 80!

Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 28
Alrighty, I finished up in Blade’s Edge fairly quickly (which is good cause I hate that place. ) and am now in Netherstorm.
I’m a little ways into 69….getting closer and closer to 70 and the home stretch in Northrend.
There was a quest in Blade’s Edge which made no sense to me as it told you to get 5 costume scraps once for a quest and that worked out. However, the 2nd time you were supposed to enter the cave, it again said you needed 5 costume scraps to kill the Named mob deep in the cave. You *don’t*. So I was grinding for costume scraps to get the disguise, when really, you’re killing anyway, so you may as well just kill to the end of the cave. It kind of confused me.
Also, for the first time since I started the guide didn’t say “you should be level 68″ it just assumed I was (and I was). Probably a missed step somewhere in there, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 27
Well I finished up in Nagrand and spent most of this session in Blade’s Edge which is probably my least favourite of all the Outland zones. It actually wasn’t too bad with a flying mount, but I remember really hating it while leveling other toons.
I ran into a couple of problems with mobs being highly resistant to frost magic again, but rather then grind my way through it I just looked up the quests saw there were no follow ups for the two I needed to do in the area and just skipped them. I’m so far ahead of the guide now that it really doesn’t matter if I skip a couple here and there.
Hopefully I won’t spend too much longer here, but I’m getting really close to 70 and going to Northrend!

Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 26
It’s day 26 and I’m about halfway through 67, which is exactly where I thought I would.
I spent the whole session in Nagrand, and I think they’ve dumbed down some of the quests here because I seem to recall having to kill far more animals in the Nesingwary chains. Not that, that’s a bad thing, those quests always seemed so long and boring.
Nothing really significant to talk about, I didn’t have much trouble except in two spots and neither of which had anything to do with the guide.
1. I think there was a Deathknight following the same guide I was because no matter where I seemed to go next, she was always there slightly ahead of me. This was kind of frustrating at points because often she had just killed all the mobs I needed. So I took a break for an hour, and that seemed to get her ahead of me enough that there wasn’t an issue anymore.
2. The second thing was a group of 80’s farming rep or something, because they were just AoE grinding all the mobs I needed in an area, which was really frustrating. Luckily, I didn’t need to kill too much, so I was in and out fairly quickly, but it would have been a lot quicker if they weren’t there.

Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 25
I just finished up in Terrokor and unfortunately upgraded my helm, so I lost my bitchin’ pimp hat that I was sporting. Ah well.
I’m about half way through 66 and it looks like I’m heading in Nagrand next. I really thought it would be Blade’s Edge, but Zygor’s Guide continues to surprise me in some ways.
The only bit I think might cause some trouble for people during this session was an escort quest from Firewing Point. I didn’t find it too difficult, but it suggests two players and I could definitely see it being difficult for some classes. I actually remember doing this quest on my feral druid a long time ago, and having some trouble with it.
Other than that, it’s been pretty smooth sailing and I got a couple of upgrades this time around.

Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 24
It’s day 24 and I flew through 64, and it looks like I’m going to repeat that again for 65.
I finished up in Zangarmarsh and spent a majority of this session in Terrokor. If you look at the screenshot you can see just how far ahead of the guide I really am.
I think this is because of the Terrokor buff you get for having the towers which increases your experience gain by 5%. This looks like it’s a pretty big increase cause it’s telling me I *should* be 65, and I’m all ready half way through.
One thing I found interesting was after you arrive in Shatt, and do the tour the guide gets you to pick Aldor immediately. I know that Zygor’s Guide is in version 2.0, so it really doesn’t matter anymore, but I’m curious if that’s the way it’s always been, because Scryer vs. Aldor was a fairly significant choice when TBC first came out.
At the very end of the session, you were made to also do a quest in Shatt, where there are waves of Bird mobs, and then finally one last one, which hits *very* hard. Though the quest isn’t Elite anymore, it was very difficult to do, and took me a couple of tries. I think some classes would have issues with it. However, since there’s no follow up and chances are at this point you’ll be ahead of the guide, you could probably skip it.

Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 23
All of Day 23 was spent in Zangarmarsh. I’m now just a little ways into 64, and I think I’m officially at the point where it’s one level a day now.
Nothing really significant to talk about during this session. There was one point where I had to collect a bunch of things for Sporregar reputation in order to pick up a new quest. It was interesting because I wasn’t sure if I was going to hit the rep goal that I was supposed to make before I’d be able to pick it up, but sure enough I did.
There was quite a bit of flying back and forth to do quests and hand them, and I can only think that if it weren’t for my flying mount, I might have a bit more trouble, but honestly at this point, you make so much money from quests and vendor trash, unless you were spending money on a lot of useless stuff, there’s no way you couldn’t afford the regular flying mount and training.

Alliance Leveling Guide: Day 22
Day 22 and I’m a fair ways into 63.
I finished up in Hellfire quite a ways before I thought I would. This guide either skipped a lot of quests that I normally have done, or it’s moving so fast that I’m just not putting it all together. I’m amazed at the speed I am leveling through Outlands, I’ve honestly never managed to get to this level in such a fast amount of time.
Around half way through 62, I was able to put enough money together to get the regular flying mount, which I think helps tremendously. I’m also back up to a healthy amount of gold to level with at this point. Getting money isn’t really that difficult once you reach Outlands.
The beginning of Zangarmarsh was annoying though. You had the objective of running around a lot and looking for one specific mob, to try and get fertile spores (I can’t remember the name of the mob…Bog Lasher maybe?) The drop rate was pretty low, and they were few and far between. I felt that a lot of time was wasted trying to do this part of the guide. It was frustrating and felt unnecessary.
Other than that little bit into Zangarmarsh I’m having a blast in Outlands and I really dig this pimp hat I’m wearing at the moment. I’ll be sad when I have to replace it.
